Before I go into my blog are you clear on what oestrogen dominance is, and the symptoms that can occur?
If you have abnormally high oestrogen levels relative to your progesterone levels, it's known as oestrogen dominance. This happens when your body has too much oestrogen or not enough progesterone to keep everything working as it should. Oestrogen dominance usually occurs when women in their 30s and 40s enter pre-menopause when no egg is released during their monthly cycle.
Oestrogen dominance occurs when there is too much aggressive oestrogen (oestrone and oestradiol), as compared to protective oestrogen (oestriol). Alternatively, when the ratio of progesterone to oestradiol is too low, meaning you do not produce enough progesterone, oestradiol becomes dominant.

There are several ways that you can start to balance your oestrogen levels and one that I will be focusing on in my upcoming Gut Health and Menopause Retreat with Shirley Lane will be seed cycling. To book guarantee your place book here
Seed cycling or seed rotation as it is also known you in certain seeds in your daily eating habits, certain seeds at the start of your bleed and then change to another set of seeds further into your cycle.
The seeds that are included are flax-seeds, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds and sesame seeds. All have differing key benefits, but for instance, both flax and pumpkin seeds work on increasing oestrogen to where it needs to be or reducing oestrogen dominance whereas both sunflower and sesame seeds are used to increase or balance progesterone.
Seed cycling is a subject I will be delving into on my net gut health and menopause retreat with Shirley Lane, menopause coach as without optimum gut health, seed cycling will not work for you.
